The Body Shop: Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops

Everyone must've heard about this little magic potion, that lightens your foundation.
This is one of the best products I have ever invested in.

More about the product:

This product has been designed for people that have light to medium skin tone, but in my opinion anyone can have a foundation which is too dark. Its not the skin-tone that is the problem, its the foundation being to dark or yellow which is the problem.
The product contains white and pink pigments. Which lightens the foundation and reduces the yellowness in the foundation.
There is also a darkening tone available.
The best thing about this product is: you can use it with any liquid foundation, it does not have to be a The Body Shop foundation. I have used it with my Mac foundtion, Maybelline, L'Oreal, ...etc

what does it do?

The lightening shade adjusting drops are made to lighten your foundation to match your skin-tone.
I always have a hard time finding a foundation that matches my skin-tone, either or the foundation is too light or (most of the times) too dark. Then I would end up buying 2 foundations a darker and a lighter shade to mix them up and get the right shade. I have a yellow undertone, but a lot of the foundations make me look too yellow or even worse, orange.
I find it tones down the yellowness, which is just brilliant!
You can even use this with your concealer. Because of the pink pigments, this will conceal and brighten your under eye dark circles.

How to use?

Shake the product.
I use 1-2 drops, depending on how dark my foundation is.
Mix it well.
Check the color, if its still not light enough add another drop, or if its too light, add a bit of foundation to it.
Apply as usual.

The Lightening shade adjusting drops retail for €17.00 in Republic of Ireland.
This will save you a lot of money and time.

My favourite skincare products

So today I'm going to write about some of my favourite skincare products.
I have been using these products for a couple of years now,
I have used many different skincare products,
but I always end up coming back to these, as they work the best for me.
It is very important to look after your skin.
I use most of these products on a daily basis.

This is hands down by far the best cream out there for really dry skin.
I tend to get dry skin during winter times, and this is the only cream that helps for me.
This is one of The Body Shop's best selling product.
They have a whole range in the hemp.
There is a hand-cream, which is even recommended by doctors, they have a hand-wash, body butter, foot protector, etc.
This is the face protector,
It gets rid of all the flakiness which you get when your skin is very dry.
This cream is not very thick or oily, it has a nice smooth consistency,
you can definitely wear this under your make-up.

I have been using the No7 products for years now.

I find them brilliant!
As I am nearing my 30's I want to keep my face looking as young as possible.
So I decided to give No7's anti ageing products a chance. I am using this skincare for about 3 years now. And it works really well for me.
I started using their eye cream, I used many eye creams before, but they would never work for me.
Either or they would start to sting in the eye, or they just wouldn't do anything for me.
Then I came across this eye cream, you only need pea sized amount for both the eyes.
It hydrates my under eyes, and really helps to prevent dark circles and fine lines.

Then there are their day and night creams.
Which are one of the best creams I have ever used.
I have used many other brands too, but I always come back to these.
They moisturise the skin so well.
Leave the skin feeling nice and soft.
Definitely prevent any fine lines.
They have a whole skincare range for all different types of skin, and ages.
They are definitely worth a try!

This serum is like a little magic potion in a bottle!
It does wonders for my skin. I started using this 3 years ago.
And I just fell in love with it.
I know it is a little expensive, but it will last you a good while.
It smooths the skin, prevent any fine lines,
I saw a difference in the first week I started using this.
It just gives your skin that boost, it needs.
I use this every night after cleansing my skin and before moisturising.

I have only recently started using this mask, and I love it!
I have a full review on this mask, so definitely check it out.
Since I bought this mask, I have been using it every single night.
In the morning my skin feels so fresh and hydrated.
This mask I use at the very end of my skincare routine.

They are definitely worth trying out.
Don't be afraid to ask for a sample, if your not sure that the product will work for you or not.
See you in my next post!

Sleek I-divine nautical collection edition, calm before storm

I picked up these lovelies a little while ago. So most of you probably know about sleek cosmetics. Hands down this is one of the best drugstore brands when it comes to eyeshadow palettes.
Their I-divine range is brilliant.
Each palette has 12 colors in them, which are highly pigmented.

Let's talk about the packaging first, so the palette comes in a nice box.
Which obviously points out the whole summer, sea vibe.
And the palette it self is like all their other palettes, black and very sleek looking.
So does their lipstick packaging.

This is a limited edition.
The colors are just lovely.
They give you this very nice summer feeling.
They just remind me of the sea, with the nice aquatic colors.

The lipstick is semi matte, it's a nice coral red color. It glides on really easy on the lips, and is very pigmented. The lipstick itself lasts about 3 hours without needing to top up. But if you're eating and drinking in between, you might need to top it up more often. The name of the lipstick is "Reddy to sail" 086.

Here are the eyeshadow swatches:

The palette retails for €10.49, and the lipstick €7.49 in Ireland. you can get it in a Boots store or on boots.ie. You can order it on their website too www.sleekmakeup.com
Prices may be different on their website.

Drops of youth, bouncy sleeping mask

I am finally back after a long time with a new review. This time it's The Body shop's bouncy sleeping mask, from their drops of youth range.

There has been huge hype about this mask. So i decided to give it a try.

The texture of this mask is very bouncy and gel like texture.
It comes with a little spatula to scoop out the product.
You only need the smallest amount, as it spreads out really good.

Here's how you use it: after you have finished your skincare routine at night, you use this mask as the last step.
Scoop out some of the product with the spatula. Massage it gently on your skin. Leave it on at night. Do this everyday.

And now i do understand the huge hype about this mask.
It does wonders!
In the morning, my skin feels soft, hydrated and revived.
It is hands down one of the best masks that i've used.

It retails for €30.00 in The Body Shop Ireland. In other countries prices may vary.

YSL All in one BB cream review

Finally got round to doing this review!

I personally would not be that much into BB creams. Because its really hard to find one that matches my skin tone, most of the BB creams are too dark or too light, or i just end up looking really yellow. And most of the BB creams would not even cover any blemishes or redness.

I have been using this BB cream for nearly a month now, and i am obsessed with it!
This BB cream is amazing.
It comes in 3 different shades: light, medium and dark.
I use medium and its a perfect shade ( its really hard finding a bb cream for Indian/olive skin tone) . It does not make me look all yellow.

The BB cream is really moisturizing, it made my skin feel really nice and soft. It gave a fresh feeling to it.
There is a nice light fragrance to the cream, but not to overpowering.
The texture of this BB cream is very soft and smooth, its really easy to apply, and blends out really well.
It has great coverage, it covered redness and even blemishes, it will not have full coverage like a foundation, but that's the whole point of a BB cream, to moisturize the skin and provide camouflage.
It works well under a foundation  if you want that extra bit coverage for a night out or a party.

The coverage lasted on me up to 6 hours which is great. The best thing is: it doesn't set into the fine lines after a while.
It sets really well after applying.
Its was not as oily as i thought it would be, even during the day it did not make me all shiny which definitely is a plus point. For some people that have an extremely oily T-zone might have to use some setting powder just to get rid of the shine.

Price wise i do find it very expensive, it retails in Ireland for €52.00. I got it at the airport for €38.00
I personally will not buy this BB cream again, do not get me wrong, i love this product and i'm obsessed with it, but its way to expensive for my pocket its a one time buy only.

I hope you guys liked this review.

ELF Cosmetics review

ELF first impression and review

A big hello to all you makeup junkies out there!
I know its been a while since my last post, but lets not waste any time and start!
As you can see the title, you can guess what i have been upto. I ordered quite a few bits from ELF about a month ago. I was just trying them out myself and see which ones are 'oh yeah i will buy them again', and which are ' oh no'.

I bought their Mineral infused face primer.
It claims to transform face into a flawless smooth canvas.
Combats oil, flakiness, enlarged pores and fine lines.
And it gives a long lasting satin finish.
The price is 8.39

I have been using this primer for a month now, and i must say i am quite impressed with it.
A small amount goes a long way, it definitely hides my dry patches,
it is very smooth and soft when you apply it, and it does give a nice satin finish.
I wouldn't say that it helps to really hide enlarged pores or fine lines.
I would say it lasts about 5-6 hours, it does on me but every skin type is different.
But overall if you do not want to spend a huge amount on a primer i would definitely recommend this!
Its perfect for everyday wear. And i think any skin type can use this, because it did not break me out at all, and i break really easy when i use something new.

Next up are their HD blushes
These are cream blushes. They come in a bottle with a pump.
It said that they're highly pigmented and give a nice natural looking finish
The price is €5.43.

I ordered 3 colors: Showstopper, Superstar and Headliner.
And I absolutely love these blushes, they are perfect.
They're very creamy, easy to blend, very build-able.
They give a really nice natural look to the cheeks.
They do have a slight bit of shimmer, but you can not see it much.
I highly recommend these!

I'm highly into eye shadows, especially when it comes to pigments.
I got their matte and shimmery pigments.

These 3 are from their ELF STUDIO LINE
Their price is €4.77

As you can see, its a very nice packaging.
The colors are highly pigmented, these eye shadows are just perfect!
They're very easy to blend, they have a very fine texture.

And these are the shimmery ones, they were not from the studio collection.

As you can see, even these are highly pigment, very shimmery...
Perfect for a night out!
Again, really soft texture!
I can not remember the price of these, because i bought them from the sale section.
I think their discontinued.

No make up shopping is ever complete without any lipsticks! I ended up buying their new collection
The ELF moisturizing lipstick.
I had a lot of great expectations from these.
But I am a little disappointed...
I am highly impressed with the packaging, it looks very sleek and nice.
No doubt they're very moisturizing, they contain Shea, vitamins A C and E.
The thing that let me down was the pigmentation.
They're not as dark as they let on to be. you have to layer and layer and layer them to get even close to the color their supposed to be. Somehow ELF always lets me down with their lipsticks.
When you apply the lipstick it has a nice shine to it, but after some time the shine is gone. It just gives a strange washed off color. The lipstick does last about 2.5 hrs if your not eating or drinking in between, but you have to top it up after that time.

from the swatches you can see their not very pigment.
the names of the colors go from left to right:
Rosy go around
Coral cutie
Cheeky
Ravishing rose
Wink pink
Would i ever purchase them again? I don't think so.

At the end of the day i love ELF cosmetics, i haven't put up any pictures of their make up brushes, but i highly recommend their make up brushed! They're really affordable and they will last you ages!

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this post. Let me know what your thoughts are about their products.
See you next time!
